Life is Beautiful comes together with Free Speech (previously Oral Cabaret at the Maltings) for a one off show in support of the poetry link tour!

The night will feature a host of talented performers including; The Anti Poet - Paul Eccentric & Ollie Wilton, one of the only few poets to be disqualified from a slam! Also putting in a Special Appearance is Vinnie Gibbons The Bastard Attack Poet!!!

The night will be head lined by LUKE WRIGHT;

4Talent award winner who since 2006 has launched his own curve-ball bid to become Poet Laureate, programmed and hosted Latitude’s poetry arena (the largest poetry event in Europe) and has become the newest poet-in-residence on BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live. In 2009 he took contemporary poetry onto primetime TV, writing all the poetry for Channel 4’s The Seven Ages of Love, a 30 minute documentary that gained ‘pick of the day’ in 8 national publications and was broadcast to over a million people.

He has three solo poetry stage shows: Poet Laureate, Poet & Man, A Poet’s Work Is Never Done.

His first book, Who Writes This Crap?, co-written with Joel Stickley, was published by Penguin in 2007. A live show based on the book enjoyed a sell-out run at Edinburgh 2008.

His spoken word album - The Rise and Fall of Luke Wright, Esq - is available to order online here. A pamphlet is forthcoming from Egg Box Summer 2009.

Luke’s new show is called The Petty Concerns of Luke Wright, and it debuts at The 2009 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
